Maybe her words have such a strong impact on me is because they remind me of a similar scene at the end of the last field service, right before I boarded a plane to go home on maternity leave. I know so well the wave of emotion that washes over you in moments like that, and while I'm not spending time swimming in that ocean these days, reading her words at least lets me dip my toes in again.
